It’s been said that 80% of New Year’s Resolutions don’t make it past February. While the statistic is staggering, one could argue it’s hardly surprising. After all, how many of us have made resolutions only for them to get lost in the hustle and bustle of the new year? As the saying goes, “the best laid intentions often go awry.”
Of course, this really only extends to our personal lives. Professionally, “resolutions” become goals or KPIS, carefully tracked and monitored quarter by quarter and over review cycles. As a business, our enterprise goals are crucial to our success and our alignment as an organization–especially as a small team moving a million miles an hour. However, work-life balance and feeling fulfilled in our personal lives have been repeatedly proven to yield more productive, engaged, and healthy employees. After all, we’re so much more than our professions, why not hold our personal aspirations to the same standard?
So, here are 3 intentions each of our core team members plan to focus on in 2025.
Stephanie Ray, Account Manager
Last year I started tennis lessons and continued with Pilates, and I spent so much time with family. A complete 180 compared to when I lived in Chicago! In 2025, I’ll be prioritizing:
- More time spent outside! Going on more walks, 3-5 times a week. Maybe even reading outside!
- Daily gratitude reflection: 3 things I’m grateful for daily
- Increasing my water intake
Anna Hochberger, Director of Marketing
2024 wreaked havoc on my emotional and mental health, and, while it ended significantly better than it started, I’m looking forward to making (and keeping!) 2025 as nourishing as possible. This year, I’ll be focusing on:
- Getting back into a consistent yoga practice (I want to comfortably get my heels back on the floor in Down Dog by this time next year!)
- Consistently read, at least one book a month. It’s good for the mind and minimizes screen time, which was my focus last year.
- Continue to expand my “village” and nurture new and existing interpersonal relationships. I’ve been working remotely since 2018, and I’ve found I need this to stay balanced and ensure I’m not at home with my dog all of the time. I started a monthly supper club last year and can’t wait to see it grow!
Mario Farag, Co-founder and Chief Financial Officer
Last year I honed in on coping with stress. I do CrossFit about 3-4 times a week now and that has helped me take out any anger or frustrations, and biking and going on trails has helped me clear my mind and think about my work-life balance. To build on that:
- This year I want to focus on making more time for playing soccer. I play every Monday and would like to add one or two more days each week.
- I would like to learn a third language this year!
- Be more consistent with jogging, at least 3 times a week.
I believe all of this will continue to boost and improve my consistency and discipline.

In 2024 I cultivated several life-changing habits, including reading twenty pages a day, going to yoga one to two times a week, and planning one social event weekly. These helped me stay curious, anchor myself physically and mentally, and reminded me of the importance of nurturing relationships while having fun along the way. I give credit to my partner Michelle, she’s been an integral part of my life for the past year and has been an incredible support system.
As I look ahead to the new year, here are three wellness intentions I’m committing to:
- Do jiu-jitsu three times per week and compete. Jiu-jitsu has been a big part of my life. It’s not just a workout; it’s a discipline that sharpens my mind and pushes my limits physically and mentally. This year, I’m setting a goal to show up consistently—three times a week—and step onto the mat in competition. Competing adds purpose to my training and reminds me to embrace challenges, not avoid them.
- Increase my morning meditation to 30 minutes. Meditation has been a game-changer for me. It helps me stay grounded and focused no matter what chaos the day throws my way. Right now, I meditate regularly, but I want to deepen that practice by committing to 30 minutes each morning. It’s about carving out space to clear my head and reset my intentions before the day starts.
- Journal every day, including 10 things I’m grateful for. Journaling isn’t just about writing down thoughts—it’s about creating a record of growth and gratitude. Every day, I want to take time to reflect and list 10 things I’m grateful for. Gratitude has a way of shifting perspectives and helping me find balance, even on tough days.
